பிராண முத்திரை

Referred to as ‘life force’, the word 'Prana' originally stems from the Sanskrit word for ‘inhalation’. It can be understood as the breath of life and the energy behind everything that exists in the universe. Developing a way to build and contain Prana within the body is an important part of yoga practice. When you're feeling low in energy or your meditation practice is focused on building vitality, this is the Mudra to use in order to enhance a sense of aliveness.

This Mudra is considered one of the most important due to its ability to awaken dormant energy within the body, but it can also help us tune into the Pranic energies that surround us. It is said to gradually improve our immune system and rejuvenate the body.

To come into this Mudra touch the tips of your ring and pinky fingers to the tip of your thumb, leaving your index and middle fingers straight. For this particular Mudra to have its full effect, it should be practiced alone and in secret. So shhh!
